VAEA? is a podcast about tv shows, movies and documentaries.
There wasn't an identity in place, per se, but an avatar.
The main application would be avatars, Spotify and YouTube covers, etc. So the development of the brand was around that.
This project posed an interesting constraint: it had to be completely editable in the mobile app Canva by people unfamiliar with design.
So first things first, I chose TAN Nimbus - available for free use at Canva - as the typeface for the logo and main titles.
Static screen sounds are used throughout the podcast, so it seemed like a good place to start.
When searching for a static screen look I liked, I eventually settled with a dark, starry sky. It is reminiscent of random static dots and looks beautiful with white text over it.
After that, I picked colours from bars and tone imagery and had a rainbow-like graphic element of Canva edited to resemble the lines we saw on the mood board.
